AABA Donates Proceeds from Installation to Harvey Relief

CHICAGO – The Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Chicago Area (AABA Chicago) will host its 30th Annual Installation and Awards Ceremony (Installation) on September 14, 2017, at MingHin Cuisine, 333 East Benton Place, Chicago, Illinois, from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. AABA Chicago pledges to donate 100% of its individual ticket sales from Installation to benefit the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
A professional bar association comprised of attorneys in all practice areas, AABA Chicago members recognize that after victims address their immediate needs, they will face other challenges that may require legal assistance. The amount pledged will be donated to a legal aid, or similar association, for the purpose of providing legal assistance to victims of Hurricane Harvey.
“AABA Chicago is committed to serving the legal needs of the Asian American community and the broader community at large,” said Jasmine V. Hernandez, President of AABA Chicago. “AABA Chicago wants to support our friends and associates in the affected Houston area, as well as provide support for victims in the months ahead.”
At the September 14th Installation, Kimberly M. Foxx, Cook County State’s Attorney, and Young B. Kim, Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of Illinois, will install the 2017- 2018 President and Board of Directors. The keynote address will be delivered by Catherine Nelson, Vice President and General Counsel of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. The Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Chicago Area (AABA Chicago) was founded in 1987 as the Midwest's first bar association promoting the interests of Asian American attorneys and law students and supporting the Asian American community in Chicago.
